Management
Our program management details the key stakeholders and tools involved in the evaluation and facilitation of our comprehensive school counseling program. Below, you will find links to our advisory council, annual agreement and calendar documents. The advisory council consists of the team of stakeholders both within and without the school environment that review and advise our counseling program. Participants on our team include: Budlong’s school counselor, principal, some teachers, a student leader, a parent/PTA member, community members/resources, and other school support staff such as the nurse, psychologist, case manager, and social worker. This team will meet three times over the course of the academic year.
The annual agreement outlines the organization and focus of the school counseling program and creates a formal dialogue between the Budlong counseling team and school administration regarding program and school-wide goals. The agreement insures proper alignment between the counseling program and the administrative team’s vision for the school. The document includes: the counseling department’s mission, program goals, an explanation of the counselor’s time distribution, the advisory council’s meeting schedule, documents developed for the program, the program’s budget, and office hours.
The calendar provides a visual representation of our proposed programming and counseling interventions, as well as high-level district-wide dates of note, such as holidays and professional development events.
